Efrain J. Del Pilar
Principal Cello

Started studying flute at the age of 13 with Pedro Aguilar. By the age of 15 was playing with University of Puerto Rico Concert Band as a principal flutist and bass clarinetist at the Arecibo Campus. He completed his Bachelor degree in Music Education and Performance in flute and cello from the Interamerican University or Puerto Rico. Where he studied flute with Francisco Rodriguez, Gary Morales, Josue Casillas and Ileana Latorre and cello with the maestro and composer Nicky Aponte and Jesus Morales (Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico) and coached by Nilda Betancourt and Salvador Rivera. Also has been at the Berkley Summer Music camps.

He has performed as principal cellist of the Mayaguez Symphony Orchestra and as a cellist at the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra. Has performed as a Cello soloist at the Carnegie Hall, Capilla de Santa Cecilia in Italy, Paris Conservatory in Paris.

Efrain has collaborated with programs as One String for Every Child education program in San German PR, Mayaguez Catholic Choir, Polyphonic Choir of Aguada PR and with the University of Puerto Rico Mayaguez Campus Choir.
